May Regatta 2026

The legendary May Regatta kicked off in the waters of the Malaya Neva near Petrovskaya Spit. 200 athletes and 11 classes of youth centerboard sailing yachts took to the race course.

The May Regatta traditionally opens the sailing season in St. Petersburg. The main children's and youth competition is celebrating its 60th anniversary. ALPE Consulting is once again supporting this wonderful event. We believe that yachting instills many wonderful qualities in children.

First, it's a real school of life.
Here, you can't hide behind a phone screen in a virtual environment. You have to think quickly: which way the wind is blowing, how to set the sail, where to shift the rudder. One wrong move, and the yacht loses momentum.

Second, there's no room for laziness.
To make a boat go fast, you have to work constantly: hauling the sheets, shifting from side to side, maintaining balance, and heeling the boat over with your whole body. After an intense workout, you feel completely exhausted, but it never gets boring. Because each time it's a new game, an adventure, where every muscle engages in a shared dance with the sea.

Thirdly, there's the magic of teamwork.
On a yacht, there's no "I"—there's "We." One person holds the course, another steers the sail, a third watches the wind. And there comes a point when we begin to understand each other without words.

But beyond all this, there's perhaps another, perhaps the most important quality of sailing. CEO Stanislav Malyshev puts it this way:

"My friend and business partner, Andrey Devochkin, bought himself a yacht and invited me on one of his first sea voyages. That was my first time aboard a real sailboat. We set out on the open water under the engine—the hum, the vibration, the slow speed...

Everything changed dramatically when we stopped the engine, the noise died down, and we set the sails! The wind was excellent, and we flew freely and quickly toward Kronstadt. Everything inside me turned upside down—it was an absolutely physical feeling of freedom, clear and distinct. That's how I fell in love with Parus forever, and I love it for precisely this—the physical sensation of true freedom.

Parus offers many things: the excitement of a regatta, the enjoyment of life on mysterious distant islands, and the opportunity to see the Southern Cross overhead. But most importantly, it gives an entrepreneur an understanding of freedom as the most important value. Everything on this Earth is there for rapid movement forward and achievement." set goals. If you understand how to harness the forces of nature and have a reliable and experienced crew by your side.

P.S.
I remembered Yuri Senkevich talking about sailing the Baltic on the "Kruzenshtern" and persuading the captain to set sail when the opportunity arose. He described how, after setting the sails, the enormous ship tensed, shuddered under the force of the wind, and, listing, raced forward, cutting through the waves. At that moment, there was a distinct sensation of flight.

It's very similar to what I experienced on my first sailing trip."
